Catherine Maina, known to her patients and friends as Cate, has been a Dental Hygienist at Pure Dental since June 2014, just a wee bit longer than her sister Nancy. She made the decision to continue the adventure into dentistry once she experienced how fulfilling it is to help restore unhealthy mouths and see them into better health. She started at Pure Dental in June 2014 and loved the office so much she invited her twin sister to join!
If you could only give one piece of advice to your patients about their oral health, what would it be? I would tell them the mouth is a window to your health. Take care of your mouth and your health will thank you daily.
In the years that you’ve been working in dentistry, what is one of the most significant changes you have seen in the industry? The digital world has rescued us from the analog paper charts and x-ray dark rooms.
What is the best part of being a dental hygienist? I get to play a part in building healthy smiles, one patient at a time.
Who is a person whom you admire greatly? Daniel in the bible.
What was one of the greatest lessons you learned from your childhood? A smile can speak a thousand words and can give hope to the dying.
When you are not at the dental office, where can you be found? You can find me serving in the church ministry/community groups and travelling.
